#7 – Monday, Sept 17, 2012 (Day 2) Driving thru Nebraska on I-80

Left Lincoln, NE about 9:30am in a light mist.  Ate lunch at Runza.  This is a fast food chain that you see in many, many cities in Nebraska.  I tried the Runza.  It was pretty good, I don’t know that I would order it again.  It is a dough with a mixture of beef, onions, cabbage and spices in the middle that is baked in the oven.  I took a picture so you could see the Nebraska famous Runza.  I had the cheese Runza.  They offer a few variations.

I stopped at the Archway Monument for a few minutes.  It is an interactive museum/restaurant/gift shop/hike/bike trail.  It is built over I-80.

Spent the day looking at cornfields, hay fields, pasture land and cows along the highway.  I did see one wind farm along the way.

Ended the day in Sidney, NE.  Staying at the Cabela’s RV Park & Campground.  Full hook-ups including cable and wifi.  At some point in the middle of Nebraska time changes from Central to Mountain time as Lincoln, NE was Central and Sidney, NE is Mountain time.

Drove about 350 miles today.  When I stopped for the night I noticed that my trailer license plate was hanging by one screw.  I used google to find the local Ace Hardware that I will be visiting before leaving Sidney, NE.
