Wednesday, Oct 3, 2012 (Day 18) Moving from Moab, UT to Albuquerque, NM

Left Moab this morning about 9:30am.  Drove down 191 to 491 to I-40.  Started in Utah, drove thru the corner of Colorado and ended up in New Mexico.  370 miles today…sunny and warm.

The first 45 miles was the most scenic of the day.

My car and trailer look like match box cars next to the giant rock. Taken 10 miles south of Moab, Utah.

I stopped for a little lunch in Shiprock, NM.  As most of you know, I have dark blonde hair, blue eyes and am very, very fair.  While having lunch I really felt like I stood out from the crowd.  Then I figured out Shiprock, NM is in the middle of the Navajo Indian Reservation.

I am at the American RV Park on the west edge of Albuquerque tonight.

My site at American RV Park, Albuquerque, NM.

Tomorrow I will move over to the Balloon Fiesta Park where I will be dry camping.  I will be trying out my Honda generator.  The official start of the Balloon Fiesta is Saturday.

Mom did get to go home last night.  I talked to her a few hours ago and she says she is doing well.
