Friday, Oct 26, 2012 (Day 41) – Home, Sweet, Home

I drove 11 hours to get home at 11:00pm on Friday.  I drove 560 miles in one day.  The only reason I drove so many miles in one day was to attend a funeral on Saturday morning.  The man who hired me 32 years ago died this week.  I worked with him for 10 years before his retirement.

I parked in front of my house Friday night and slept in my house with no heat (my Dad had turned off my furnace).  I was fine…I have an electric mattress pad that I turned on high.  I woke up at 8:30am.  I quickly gathered up some clothes, unhitched the Egg and left it in the street and went over to my parents to take a shower and get ready as my Dad had turned off the pilot light on my hot water heater also….so I made it to the 10:30am memorial service and then had lunch with my family and then emptied some things out of the Egg and then took a long nap.

Today (Sunday) I finished taking everything out of the Egg.  Tomorrow I will hitch the Egg back up and take it over to my parents and put it to bed for the winter.

So I drove 6640 miles in six weeks  It was a great experience and I am happy I did it.

Now I have to work on my photo book, do a lot of laundry and start on my other projects and eventually decide what I am going to do when I grow up……

Thanks for following along on my mid-life journey!!!!!!!!!!
