Thursday, February 7, 2013 (Day 3) – Natchez, MS

The fog was so thick this morning that I could not even see the Mississippi river. So much for the “River View RV Park”. Left the RV park about 9:15am.

I toured the “Rosalie” house at 10:00am. I was the only one on the tour. Beautiful house right on the river with beautiful antique furniture and accessories. http://www.rosaliemansion.com/

Next I went to “Stanton Hall” for the 11:00am tour. I was the only one on that tour as well. Another beautiful home in the middle of Natchez. http://www.stantonhall.com/index.html

At noon I toured “Longwood”. I took the tour with another couple and they just happened to be from Missouri. What are the odds? They live at the Lake of the Ozarks. This house is the largest octagonal house in America. It is a six story house with only the basement finished as work stopped due to the Civil War and the family lost their fortune and was never able to complete the interior of the home. http://www.stantonhall.com/longwood.htm

I drove 180 miles this afternoon to Mandeville, LA. For three nights I am staying at the Fontainebleau State Park. Arrived at the park about 5:45pm.
