Today I drove into New Orleans. It is about 45 miles from the state park to the French Quarter. 25 miles of the drive is on the toll Causeway Bridge over Lake Pontchartrain. Very odd to drive 25 miles on a bridge.
It was overcast till about 2:00pm today. In the 60’s. I walked thru the French Market and had lunch. I had a roast beef po-boy sandwich at a patio café. At 1:00pm I met Natasha for my French Quarter Photo Workshop Tour. It is a combination walking tour thru the French Quarter and photo skill instruction class. Once again I was the only person on the tour. It was interesting and I learned a few things.
After my tour I had beignets at the Café Du Monde. Left the French Quarter about 4:30pm. Got back to the park and drove down to the beach just in time to catch the last glimpse of the sun going down.
I am watching the news and they just showed Bourbon Street and it is body to body. I noticed about 4:00pm in Jackson Square and surrounding area that the crowds were beginning to swell with partiers.
So are you going to take mardi gras???
