#126 – Monday, August 18, 2014 – Visiting Prison

I left Butler about 12:40pm this afternoon.  Drove to Binder Lake Campground in Jefferson City, MO.  Checked in for an overnight stay.  $15.00 fee.

Did not unhitch since I am just overnighting.  Had some dinner at Lutz’s Famous BBQ.  It was pretty good but a little expensive.  Went downtown to the Missouri State Penitentiary.  This prison was open from 1836 to 2004.  It is located right on the river.

I went on the 6:00pm tour.  There were about 15 people on the tour.  At one time, over 5000 prisoners were housed in the prison.  I did not care for the delivery style of the particular tour guide that I had.  Here are a few photos from the tour.
