I left the hotel at 8:20am for the Magic Kingdom. As I drove to the park, I saw the Marathon runners. 49,000 people are here for the Princess Marathon Weekend. I walked through the front gate at 9:05am. I went to Fantasyland and rode Peter Pan, It’s A Small World, Dumbo, Haunted Mansion, Aladdin’s Flying Carpets, Jungle Cruise and Pirates of the Caribbean before heading to “Be Our Guest” for my lunch reservation.
This is the hot new restaurant here at Walt Disney World that everyone wants to get in. For lunch it is what they call “Quick Service” here. You order when you reach the front of the line, go in and choose a place to sit, get your own drink, utensils, napkins, etc and then they bring your lunch to you. The one thing I liked was the cart they bring your lunch in is enclosed with glass so your food will maybe stay warm as they bring it to you.
Here is what I had:
Croque Monsieur – Grilled Sandwich of Carved Ham and Gruyere Cheese and Bechamel with Pommes Frites. – $11.49
The Master’s Cupcake – Chocolate Sponge Cake topped with Lumiere’s special “Grey Stuff” – $4.19
Basically it was a grilled ham and cheese Panini with French fries and a chocolate cupcake. It was good.
After lunch I rode the train back to the front entrance and left about 1:00pm. My feet are better than the used to be but about 4 hours on my feet at a time is all I can stand. Also the sun and my fair skin are not good friends plus the crowds are at their highest between noon and six pm or so.
I went back to the hotel, iced my feet and took a nap. I went back to Magic Kingdom at 6:00pm. I rode the new hot ride here at WDW. Seven Dwarves Mine Train. It is a mild to mid level roller coaster that only last 2 minutes. After that I wondered thru some stores and went to get a spot for the Electric Light Parade. It was at 8:00pm. After the parade I moved down Main Street to get a spot for Celebrate the Magic and Wishes that started at 8:45pm. The walk down Main Street was mass humans, strollers and electric scooters in the dark.
After Wishes I rode Space Ranger Spin and the PeopleMover. The crowds were much less than in the late morning and afternoon and the weather was perfect. I wondered into some stores as I made my way to the front gate. I left the gate at 10:00pm, rode the Ferryboat back to the parking lot and drove back to the hotel. I was back in the room by 10:45pm.
The weather today was fabulous. The high for the day was 82 and when I drove back to the hotel at 10:00pm it was 67.
Here are pictures of my day:
