I left Biloxi, MS this morning about 10:00am. It was a lovely sunny morning. I stopped at Bellingrath Gardens in Theodore, AL along the way to walk through their gardens and have a little lunch.
I saw mostly Azaleas. It was a pleasant break from driving.
I continued on to Pensacola, FL. I stopped at the grocery store in Gulf Breeze before continuing to Gulf Islands National Seashore. I paid $15 for park access for the week at the entrance. You then continue a little over 3 miles to camper registration to check in. I paid the campground fee when I made the reservation several months ago. It is $26 per night for electric and water. Another mile or so down the road is the campgrounds.
I pulled in my spot about 4:45pm. The day had become overcast during the last few hours. The campgrounds are full. It is Easter weekend and spring break for many schools. There are a lot of families and there is a wide variety of campers. Fancy rigs, small trailers and pop-ups, tents and some very odd tent-like structures people have rigged up. I am getting quite a few channels with my little antenna and I getting wifi using my phone as a hotspot.
Weather looks to be pretty good this week. They are calling for substantial rain on Easter Sunday. I drove 130 miles today.
