#167 – Wednesday, March 30, 2016 -Driving down the coast

Not as warm today.  Windy and overcast.  I left the campground about 10:00 this morning and headed east along the coast.  Gulf Islands National Seashore has several different areas.  I drove through the Santa Rosa section and continued east through Navarre, Fort Walton Beach and ended in Destin,

I stopped at a few beaches along the way.  Destin reminds me of Branson.  Highway 98 is lined on both sides by hotels, restaurants, shops, go-cart tracks, bumper boats, etc.  The main difference is an ocean on the other side of the hotels.

I drove through Henderson Beach State Park in Destin.  It is a very popular camping park and I wanted to see why people find it so exciting.  Each site is heavily surrounded by vegetation making them very private and the park is literally in the middle of Destin right on Hwy 98.  The sites are not near the water and they are far enough away that you would have to drive to the beach area.

I stopped at HomeGoods.  It is one of my favorite stores.  I held my hands behind my back while I looked to keep me from buying anything.  I need nothing!

I returned to the trailer at 7:00pm.
