Left Little Rock about 11:30am made a couple of stops on the way home and arrived home about 7:00pm. Just a hot, humid, trouble free drive home.
In March I had a couple of modifications done to the trailer that I enjoyed on this trip.
I changed out two of my single older style pancake lights to two new LED double pancake lights and the difference is amazing in the amount of light!!!
I changed out the window in the door from the frosted to a clear view tinted window so I can see out.
I slept late, then read a book. I left the trailer for a late lunch/early dinner and drove around randomly thru neighborhoods and along both sides of the river. I walked the Clinton Pedestrian Bridge. I stopped at the grocery store for a salad to take back to the trailer for later.

I sat out in front of my trailer and watched the fireworks that were going off in neighborhoods. The official public fireworks display was cancelled due to COVID.
I left the trailer about 10:30. I spent the day visiting stores and driving around Little Rock. It was hot, hot and humid and even indoors, wearing a mask is not pleasant. There were also more people in the stores than I was expecting. Most people are wearing masks.
I pulled thru Chick-Fil-A to get lunch to eat in the car. Wow! The dining room is closed, so drive up is the only option. Those employees are standing outside in the heat and humidity with masks on (they do have umbrellas over them) taking orders on one side of the building and then handing out the food in plastic tubs on the other side. And they are doing it with great customer service with their standard tag line……my pleasure in response to you saying thank you.
I saw a restaurant called “The Purple Cow”. Well I decided I needed to check it out. I tried one of their specialty desserts…..Purple Ice Cream Pie. It is vanilla ice cream colored purple on an oreo crust served with hot fudge, oreo crumbles and whipped cream. It was pretty good.
About 6:00pm I went back to the trailer. Here is a photo of the Clinton Pedestrian Bridge and at the far end you see a large modern building, that is the Clinton Presidential Library. I had hoped to visit the library but it is still closed due to COVID. If you look closely at the second picture you will see people walking and biking on the bridge.
After 8:00pm it finally cooled down enough that it was pleasant to sit out and watch the lights and boats buzzing around in the river. The moon and the light reflections are cool..
2020 – The year of COVID. I was scheduled to travel to Nashville in mid-March when the pandemic shutdown began. So no travelling this spring. I made reservations for the 4th of July weekend at one of my favorite RV parks in Little Rock, Arkansas. The Downtown Riverside RV Park is owned and operated by North Little Rock and is perched right on the Arkansas River. They have 61 sites. 15 of the sites are riverfront.
So I reserved a riverfront site a few months ago and I was looking forward to viewing the 4th of July fireworks that they set off from a bridge over the river right next to the RV park. A week before the holiday, they cancelled the event due to COVID concerns.
I decided to go ahead and come just to get out of town for a few days. I had a hair appt this morning. My first since February. Boy did I need it. So I left home at 11:00am. I drove 355 miles thru the heat with two short stops. I backed in to my spot at 6:00pm. It was hot and humid. I unhitched, hooked up water and electric, turned on the air conditioner in the trailer and left to get a few things while the trailer hopefully got cooler. It was well over 90 degrees and way too humid.

About 8:30pm it started thundering and eventually a pretty good little storm came along.

I left the campground at noon. It was already getting a little warm for me. On the way out of town I stopped at Thorncrown Chapel. It was smaller than I expected but very peaceful.
I continued on to Bella Vista, AR, stopped for lunch and then north to Joplin. I stopped at a couple of stores and then headed for home. Home at 7:00pm. Nice weekend outing.
