First egg trip of the year. Of course it has been exceptionally hot the last week or so when I wanted to work on the EggCamper and load it up. I kept putting it off hoping for cooler weather. Nope! Then last night it rained all evening. Oh well.
So this morning I just threw it all in and took off. I did not get away until 11:00 and it was 77 degrees when I left then.
I stopped in Liberty at Chick Fil A for my favorite sandwich, made one gas stop and then stopped at Panera Bread just before my campground for the night to pick up a salad to go. I drove 369 miles today. I arrived at my campsite at 6:30pm. It was a lovely 73 degrees.
I am overnighting at the Illinois State Fairgrounds Campground in Springfield, IL. They have 300 sites here. Some are on grass and some are just asphalt parking lots. There are only a few people here so you basically just pull in wherever you want. $20.00 for the night for electric and water. My only neighbors are across the parking lot. No kids, no pets, very quiet.
I spent the evening putting everything away where it belongs.
