The sun shone most of the day today.  I took the ferry from Galveston Island to Bolivar Peninsula this morning.  It is free.  I had ridden a ferry once as a pedestrian but today was the first time I drove onto a ferry with my car.  The ride was 18 minutes long.

This afternoon I drove down the coast about 30 miles and then drove thru Galveston Island State Park.  When I paid my fee to visit the state park, they gave me a flyer stating that bacteria levels were high in both the gulf and bay and that they recommended no swimming.   It was 80 degrees, humid and windy here today.

  1. Nice bird pictures. When we were in Vancouver, Canada, on a motorcycle trip (in the 1980’s), we got to take a ferry over to Vancouver Island. The ride was 1-2 hours long–nice trip.

  2. isn’t it funny, they say don’t go in the water and yet you see God’s beautiful creature all in there. Makes me sad that it is to unsafe for us yet these creature they call this home…….loved the pictures 🙂 We took a ferry in MI to Drummond Island with a trailer and Jeeps a long time ago before children 🙂
